Flying into Kathmandu, you'll have views over the valley, the Himalayas, and the terraced fields below. After completing customs, a representative will be waiting to greet you outside the airport and to guide you through the initial culture shock of Kathmandu’s narrow, winding streets to your hotel. Overnight: Kathmandu

Private group · 7 hours Today visit Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Pashupatinath with your tour guide. - Boudhanath Stupa, situated 11 Km. from the centre of Kathmandu, is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal directions, keeping a lookout for righteous behaviour and human prosperity. This Buddhist stupa was built by King Man Deva at the advice of the Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an octagonal base and contains inset prayer wheels. The shrine is surrounded by the homes of Lamas, or Buddhist priests. - Kathmandu Durbar Square is the centre point of attraction of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, also known as Kantipur. Here you will visit the temple of the living Goddess, who acknowledges the greetings of her devotees from the balcony of her temple residence, Kasthamandap - the source of the name Kathmandu (destroyed by the 2015 earthquake). It was allegedly made from the timber of a single tree. Next, on to the Durbar Square area with its array of temples overlooked by the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, the ancient palace of the Nepalese Royalty. - The Pashupatinath Temple is considered one of the holiest places for Hindus. It is located 6 km east of Kathmandu. The structure is a two-story building and is built in pagoda style. The site is a collection of temples, ashrams, images and inscriptions. The structures in this perimeter were raised over the centuries and lie right beside the banks of the holy Bagmati River. The temple has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Sites list since 1979.

After an early breakfast in Kathmandu, you'll begin a 7-8-hour road trip to Syabrubesi. The drive climbs high over ridges as it leaves the Kathmandu Valley, and provides impressive snow-capped views of the Annapurna Himalayas to the west, as well as Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and the minor peaks of the Langtang mountain region ahead. Keep your camera close as you'll also encounter rivers, terraced hillsides, and rustic villages as you head into this mountainous region.  You'll drive through the bustling town of Trisuli before climbing up towards Dunche. From Dunche, you'll head downhill for an hour to get to Syabrubesi for the night. Driving time: 7-8 hours Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Overnight: Syabrubesi

After breakfast in Syabru Besi, you'll begin today’s trek that crosses over the Bhote Kosi River—meaning ‘Tibet River’—which flows from nearby Tibet.  You'll follow the stone-paved main street out of town over Langtang Khola. After crossing the suspension bridge, the trail gradually ascends up to ‘Bamboo’ passing a famous old landslide. The trail continues through several sub-tropical forests and then joins the trail from Syabru Besi, before climbing through uninhabited oak and rhododendron forests. Keep an eye out for langur monkeys in the trees, as well as an abundance of wildlife such as yellow-throated martens, wild boars, and red pandas. The trail to Lama Hotel becomes steep in places but then ascends gently and finally levels off before you reach your overnight stay. Trekking time: 5-6 hours (7 miles / 11.3 km)  Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Overnight: Lama Hotel

The trail continues to climb through the forest, with occasional glimpses of Langtang Lirung between the trees. At Ghora Tabela (3,000 m. / 9,842 ft) the trail emerges from the forest and the mountains loom on either side of the valley. Once there was a Tibetan resettlement project here, but now it is a Nepal Army post with no permanent inhabitants. The trail continues to climb gently and the valley widens, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock to graze in the high pastures during the summer. You will probably glimpse your first yak if you haven’t already. Trekking time: 4-5hours  Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Overnight: Langtang
